A landscape is an extension of your home. When imaging your landscape it can be hard to realize that the spaces we are working in can be the size of rooms or even as big as the square footage of your entire house. A landscape installation is a lot more like a construction project for your home. Much like installing a new kitchen or bath a lot of work and materials go into creating a well constructed landscape. At Alexander's we want to give you the best landscape for your investment. By starting with an understanding of your budget we can maximize your landscape potential and find ways to make the most of your investment. To give you an idea of your investment can turn into we have put together pricing options to help get you started.
Design Services

As part of our installation process, we require a landscape design. Designs include scaled drawings of your landscape with labeled plant lists for easy identification. The starting prices listed below are based on a general size of the area.
When laying out gardens we plan for the full growth of the plants, This will mean that there is room for plants to grow comfortably but enough plants included in the design that it will fill in the garden. For more instant impact we can increase the number of perennials and start with mature shrubs and trees or for a more budget conscious garden we can focus on structures allowing for extra plantings, such as adding perennials, in the future.

Small Area (<1000 sq ft): $750+
Large Area (>1000 sq ft): $1,000+
Small Property (front, back & side yards): $1250+
Large Properties (front, back & side yards): $2,500+

*Please note that each project is unique and the pricing is a guide. An evaluation of the space will be completed during the consultation so that we can give you an accurate estimate for design work. The level of detail and number of options required will ultimately adjust the cost. ​

Consultations
We want you to have everything you need to make the best choices for your landscape. Our consultations are $125 per hour and give you the opportunity to talk with a professional, get ideas and an understanding of the work involved regardless of whether you decide to work with us or not. For every project we install, we require an initial consultation and include a free follow up consultation to review the landscape design.

DIY Landscape Design & Guidance
If you are considering tackling your landscape project yourself. We support you! We want to see more people achieve their landscaping dreams and our DIY landscape design and guidance service can provide the extra support you need to make the most of your investment and hard work. We can even arrange for delivery of plants and materials straight to your home.

Project Pricing
Every landscaping project, whether its enhancing an existing landscape or creating a new one, begins with an understanding of budget. Installations can range from firepits to full landscape overhauls. Foundation plantings to full garden installs. Each project is unique and will have its own requirements. We approach landscapes a littler differently that other companies in that we take the time to design custom gardens that reflect our clients. We balance plantings and hardscape to give four season interest and create outdoor spaces that you will want to enjoy, whether its a sunny day out on your new patio or a winter day from your office window. When you choose to work with Alexander's, we focus on creating long lasting beautiful landscapes inspired by you and designed just for you. Our competitive project pricing is a good guide for getting started. We will work with your budget to get you the most out of your landscape installation budget. Under $7,500 - This budget is reserved for garden and landscape maintenance, touch ups and landscaping refreshes, adding fresh mulch and boosting perennial impact. We can also help you with landscape planning and designing, new construction landscape preparation and guidance, landscape and design consultations or we can help all you DIYers on your next landscape project.

$7,500 - $20,000 - In this price range we can accommodate individual projects like a small paver patio or a walkway with gardens. Enjoy uniquely designed and fully installed mid sized garden beds along the foundation of your home. Think beautiful garden around patios or privacy borders. ​​

$20,000-$40,000 - From this price point we begin to look at more inclusive landscape installations. We can combine services to give you a newly landscaped space. A project in this budget may look like a well crafted patio and walkway with freshly designed gardens or a stunning new firepit space to sit out and enjoy the night sky while perennial gardens bloom around you. Other projects in this price range may include retaining walls with steps and feature gardens. Think bold new foundation landscapes that wrap around your house or long walkways from your front door to driveway that create a garden experience welcoming you home.

$40,000-$75,000 - Reserved for larger outdoor living projects and landscape renovations or complete small landscape overhauls. Focus on creating a grand outdoor patio space with a dining area and outdoor living room with large gardens and a firepit or full house makeover with instant updated curb appeal and walkway then walk out back to your relax on your new landscaped patio space. This can include full garden landscape overhauls around your property as well with manicured landscape walkways and steps or retaining walls with tiered landscaping to bring your property to the next level.

$75,000 and above - This budget includes everything above and so much more. We can design a full landscape for your property with outdoor living spaces, tiered landscapes and specialty gardens, install landscape features, winding paths and gardens tailored specifically to you. Immersive spaces that allow you to enjoy every inch of your outdoor area. Make the most out of every square foot of your landscape. ​

With every new project consultation we provide upfront pricing for your project based on your budget and specific goals. Every project is unique and will be priced according to the scope of work. We will do our best to keep your project within the budget but we know that often times when we start a project we are asked to add on additional areas of work. For each new request we will submit a new estimate for approval and additional landscape plans if necessary before proceeding. Just know that when you work with Alexander's we will keep you in the loop every step of the way. We want you to be comfortable with the process every step of the way.​​

Still not sure how much to spend on your landscape? As a general rule to get started take the current value of your home and multiply it by 20%, see what the value is. Compare it to how much you were thinking about spending and what your landscaping goals are. If it feels like its too much for you to spend right now, see where 10% falls. Keep in mind that larger landscapes will need more materials and the more complex a landscape is the more time it will take to install.
